Comment on article 1 : Green light for carbon credit sale

Developing country has begun carbon trading as their funds source in their way to reduce carbon emissions. It was present how they act in response to dealing with global warming.

Before we go further down to comment on this article, let me describe concisely what carbon credit is about? For those who still vague in impression on this topic, I’m not blaming you guys because it’s still new to us especially in Asia Region.

The carbon credit scheme was ratify in agreement with the Kyoto Protocol. Its aim is to stop the increase of carbon dioxide emissions. As an example, if there has countries plants enough trees to reduce carbon emissions, those countries will be awarded a carbon credit. Apparently, the carbon credit scheme looks to reduce emissions by having countries respect their emission quotas and offer incentives for being their ‘umbrella’. For more understanding of carbon credit, you can find out at You Tube video as attach in my blog.

Back to these articles, this is good lesson should be reviewed by our government and respective party to practice this kind of carbon credits. Carbon credit seems like a win-win situation where the greenhouse gas emissions may be reduced while some countries harvest economic benefit.

As we in Malaysia reserve a lot of forest and there can be the place to reduce the carbon emission. In addition, our government can earn more funds by having this credit to boost up their financial. I believed by the deviation of profits from other business, our government can be more responsible in term of social affairs to the Malaysian. In other words, this is the time for government to struggle towards rising world fuel price; they can offer Malaysian much more acceptable subsidiaries and combat to the climate change simultaneously. We deserve a better Malaysia!

In opposition, critics of the idea expect that some countries will exploit the carbon credit scheme and the consequences will be negative. I’m not really agreed!!
